Serrano appointed to the San Jacinto College Board of Trustees
Longtime Pasadena resident to fill Trustee Position 3
PASADENA, Texas – Salvador Serrano Jr. has been appointed by the San Jacinto College Board of Trustees to fill Trustee Position 3. The San Jacinto College Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Monday, Dec. 9 to appoint Serrano to fill the unexpired portion of the current term for the position vacated by the late Marie Flickinger, who announced her retirement from the Board on Nov. 4.
Serrano, 35, is a lifelong resident of Pasadena, Texas, where he graduated from Sam Rayburn High School. He went on to earn an associate degree from San Jacinto College and a bachelor’s degree from University of Phoenix. He currently owns The Serrano Insurance Agencies, based in Pasadena.
“Having nurtured an enduring love for the City of Pasadena and the surrounding areas, I am eager to get to work and be a proactive member of the San Jacinto College Board of Trustees,” said Serrano. “I have witnessed the remarkable achievements of the Board over the years, and I look forward to contributing a fresh perspective that aligns with the community’s educational objectives.”
Serrano is no stranger to public service. He has served on the executive board of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, and was appointed by Pasadena Mayor Jeff Wagner to serve on the City of Pasadena Planning Commission as well as the Pasadena Economic Development Corporation. He also served as chair for the “Pasadena Loves Local” initiative and spent 18 months as president of the Pasadena Independent School District Education Foundation. Currently, he is vice president of the Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

Serrano will fill the unexpired term of Position 3, which expires at the June 2025 Board meeting, when the candidate winning the May 2025 election for Position 3 will be sworn in to begin a new six-year term.
