You’ll learn how to care for different patients, like newborns who have trouble breathing, children with asthma or pneumonia, adults who were hurt, and older patients with breathing or heart problems.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be more opportunities for respiratory therapists as the population of middle-aged and elderly people continues to grow. Respiratory therapists work in various healthcare settings, such as:

Respiratory Care, AAS

Technical Degree
The Associate of Applied Science degree prepares you for an entry-level career. Learn about the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Graduates can gain hands-on experience as respiratory care practitioners by administering therapeutic gases, medications, chest therapy, pulmonary function testing, and other services to hospital patients.
Length 2 Years
This 66-credit program takes 5 terms to complete, including a summer term. Students must attend full-time.
